Acupuncture and Dry Needling

Acupuncture and Dry Needling

Acupuncture involves the use of very fine, sterilized, disposable needles inserted into a number of selected points on the body based on an individual Asian Medical diagnosis. Acupuncture is an effective treatment to bring the body toward a state of balance and greater health. Acupuncture can rebalance the nervous system, release analgesic chemicals in the body, aid the body in prioritizing the healing of an injured area, bring immune system agents and blood to tissues, and release tension in muscles.

Dry Needling uses the same tool (a needle), but focuses on treating disfunction in the tissues and anatomical structures of the body such as tendon, ligament, muscles, joint capsules etc.

Microcurrent & Electromedicine

Microcurrent is the application of frequency specific electrical currents to the injured part of the body.  Microcurrent Therapy helps injured tissue heal faster and provides relief from pain caused by injury or chronic conditions. Microcurrent therapy works best when combined with bodywork and acupuncture.

Myoskeltal Alignment Therapy

Cupping therapy is the method of using glass or plastic cups to create localized vacuum pressure on the surface of the body.  The vacuum inside the cups pulls blood, lymphatic body fluids, and tight muscle tissues to the surface.  This action opens up the tissues of the body, and allows fresh blood and fluids into the area, thus helping the healing in that area.

Lifestyle, Diet, and Exercise Guidance

We coach patients on health lifestyle and dietary choices based on the principles of Traditional Asian Medicine.  Our recommendations are specific to each individuals constitution and health condition. Along with our treatments we often send patients home with exercise and stretching recommendations.  These are provided to help realign and strengthen the body to help the patient heal faster and avoid the conditions that lead to biomechanical imbalance.
